Orlando (Fla.) Health named Sherrie Sitarik to succeed John Hillenmeyer as president and CEO of the three-hospital system. Hillenmeyer, 61, is expected to retire at the end of the year after 13 years as its chief executive. He joined then-Orlando Regional Health System in 1982 and was an executive at two of the system's hospitals before being promoted to a corporate executive, first as senior vice president and chief operating officer then as executive vice president.
Sitarik, Orland Health's executive vice president and chief strategy officer since 2008, was selected following more than a year of succession planning, the system said. Sitarik, 53, has held a series of executive positions at Orlando Health since joining the system as a nurse in 1978, including president of Orlando Regional Medical Center/Lucerne Pavilion and vice president and patient-care executive for the system's acute services.
