Thirteen physician-owned radiology practices are banding together to form a cross-country consortium known as Strategic Radiology, according to a news release.

The consortium’s founding members are Advanced Diagnostic Imaging, Nashville; Advanced Radiology Services, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Austin (Texas) Radiological Association; Charlotte (N.C.) Radiology; Diversified Radiology, Denver; Inland Imaging, Spokane, Wash.; Jefferson Radiology, Hartford, Conn.; Mountain Medical Physician Specialists, Salt Lake City; Northwest Radiology, Indianapolis; Quantum Radiology, Atlanta; Radiology Ltd., Tucson, Ariz.; Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates, Columbus, Ohio; and Southwest Diagnostic Imaging/Scottsdale Medical Imaging Limited/Valley Radiologists Limited, Phoenix.
The collaboration agreement calls for the 13 members to share clinical and best-practices data, and consolidate certain expenses in order to save on costs. The agreement also calls for them to expand patient access to radiology subspecialty services offered by the member groups, according to the news release.
