Oncure Medical Corp., which operates a network of cancer-treatment centers, has appointed Duane Choate as president and CEO. Choate, 50, succeeds David Chernow. Previously, Choate—who joined Englewood, Colo.-based Oncure in 2007—served as the company's executive vice president and CFO.

Choate's other experience includes serving as the chief operating executive for the development and implementation of same market growth strategies at U.S. Oncology, where he worked from 1993 until 1999. He also worked as the director of finance at HMSS, a publicly held home healthcare company. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Houston.
Privately held Oncure owns, operates and manages 35 radiation oncology centers nationwide.
