Charles Kilo has been named chief medical officer of Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, effective March 15.
Kilo was the founder and CEO of GreenField Health, a private medical practice in Portland that focused on healthcare information technology and patient-care delivery. Prior to that, he was vice president of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, working on quality and patient safety. His age was not available at deadline.
“His strong suits are in exactly the areas we've identified as our priorities,” said Cindy Grueber, chief operating officer of OHSU Healthcare, in a written statement. “He will focus relentlessly on quality and safety, help us get the most out of information technology and maximize the efficiency with which we deliver care.”
