Murray left the system to be a regional senior vice president with Tenet Healthcare Corp., now based in Dallas, but remained on the Sisters of Charity health system's board of directors. Murray rejoined the system as CEO in 1998, and also was named president in 1999.
Most recently, Murray oversaw a long process to rewrite the bylaws of Exempla Healthcare, a Denver-based system that the Sisters of Charity system sponsors. The system now has operational control of Exempla, while a local foundation retains five of the 10 board seats, according to an agreement reached in October and finalized in December.
