Xerox Corp. closed on a deal to acquire Affiliated Computer Services in a cash and stock deal valued at approximately $6.4 billion. Xerox, Norwalk, Conn., expands its information and business outsourcing services with the acquisition of Dallas-based ACS under the deal, first announced in late September 2009. The company's healthcare services include benefits enrollment, billing and collection, and pharmacy benefits management.
“The breadth of ACS' offerings—from HR benefits management and IT support to automated toll collection and electronic health records—is a significant competitive advantage and one we will continue to leverage though investments, innovation and global expansion,” said Ursula Burns, CEO of Xerox, in a news release announcing the deal's close. Lynn Blodgett, president and CEO of Affiliated Computer Services, has been named an executive vice president of Xerox.
