Wound Management Technologies, Fort Worth, Texas, has completed the acquisition of the Secure eHealth messaging unit and the intellectual property of Veriscrip prescription drug data-monitoring service from VirtualHealth Technologies, Lexington, Ky.
As part of the deal, Wound Management Technologies received from VirtualHealth Technologies its interest in a convertible note issued by Private Access, an Irvine, Calif., developer of online patient-consent management tools for pharmaceutical trials. VirtualHealth, however, will retain its ownership stake in Private Access.
Other terms are a payment of $100,000 in cash, a $400,000 note and a three-year, 10% royalty payable by Wound Management to VirtualHealth on sales of products using Veriscrip technology, according to a news release.
In January, VirtualHealth announced the deal, saying it would focus on its gold mining interests.
