Mich. consulting firm acquires IT outfit
Both companies are privately held and declined to release financial details of the transaction. The acquisition was effective Jan. 29, company officials said. A news release from Santa Rosa said the firm especially sought CSA's “deep specialization” with the information systems sold by Medical Information Technology, the Westwood, Mass.-based firm widely known as Meditech.
Santa Rosa CEO Richard Helppie said in a news release the acquisition was motivated by the oncoming mandates and incentives created for healthcare information technology in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, as well as continuing changes to state and federal reimbursement structures.
