The fact that the American Academy of Family Physicians, in general, supports the goals behind the proposed regulations, but believes that the proposed regulations involving collecting and reporting performance data could become an administrative burden and will impose significant hurdles that will challenge small and midsized practices' ability to qualify for the ARRA health IT subsidies couldn't be more on target.
Weigh in on 'meaningful use'
My hope is that enough professional organizations and providers will submit comments to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at HHS regarding this and other similarly proposed and administratively burdensome requirements, and that the comments will be taken into consideration for the final ruling.
