Nuance Communications, Burlington, Mass., has acquired an English company that specializes in writing software that translates voicemail messages into texts and e-mails.
Nuance acquires U.K. company
SpinVox, which is in Marlow in the United Kingdom, has struck an agreement to be acquired by Nuance for $103 million, including $66 million in cash and 2.3 million shares of Nuance stock, currently valued at about $37 million, according to a news release.
Nuance is known among healthcare providers for its programs that help physicians and direct-care workers dictate medical records by translating speech into patient records, among other products.
