At this point in the history of professional nursing, the unions are a barrier to best use of the deep and competent knowledge and care that nursing brings to patient care.
Unions seen as fostering resentment
The union steals a portion of the “Nightingale heart” and replaces it with resentment and anger toward true professional progress. Staffing levels are a clinical-quality issue, which non-nurse union boss Rose Anne DeMoro knows nothing about. This action is a step back for professional nursing care.
