The Advanced Medical Technology Association, a Washington trade group for medical-device and product makers and health information systems, has launched an in vitro diagnostic manufacturer division.
AdvaMed starts in vitro diagnostics division
A search is under way for an executive director to head the division, which will have an 18-member governing board and eight-member executive committee of in vitro diagnostic company chief executives, according to a release.
Scott Garrett, chairman, president and CEO of Beckman Coulter, Brea, Calif., has been named board chairman of the division, to be known as AdvaMed Dx. The trade group dubbed the division “an association within an association,” in a news release announcing the deal.
