Geoffrey Rutledge, M.D., was named chief medical officer and executive vice president of product development of Epocrates. Rutledge served previously as chief information officer at Wellsphere, an online health site. He also held management positions with San Mateo (Calif.) Medical Center, First Consulting Group and WebMD. Rutledge is board-certified in internal and emergency medicine. He chose not to disclose his age. San Mateo-based Epocrates provides clinical information and decision-support tools to physicians and healthcare professionals.
