Thomas Gallagher has been appointed to the new position of executive vice president and managing director of global IP strategies at Health Discovery Corp., a Savannah, Ga.-based developer of home health testing and diagnostic products.
Gallagher, 46, will be in charge of “executing new revenue-producing licensing and development relationships in the nonhealthcare and high-tech industries,” a news release said. This will include using the company's data pattern-recognition platform for applications involving such varied fields as Internet search engines, spam e-mail detection, oil exploration, homeland security and law enforcement, risk-management and vehicle-related applications such as obstacle detection and accident prediction.
Gallagher worked as a securities and business transaction attorney before becoming a vice president at New York-based Goldman, Sachs & Co.
