OptumHealth, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, said it has acquired PPC Worldwide, a global employee-assistance program provider based in the United Kingdom. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
OptumHealth acquires PPC Worldwide
OptumHealth, of Golden Valley, Minn., is a wellness, disease-management and behavioral health company. PPC Worldwide provides employee-assistance programs and personal development services to nearly 3,000 organizations covering 3 million workers in more than 100 countries.
OptumHealth executives said that an increasingly global workforce makes employee counseling and work-life balance support services more essential. The acquisition will give OptumHealth offices on five continents and a network of close to 90,000 behavioral health providers, the company said in a news release.
“Fostering a culture of health and wellness is especially challenging for employers that manage complex multinational workforces,” said OptumHealth CEO Dawn Owens in a statement.
