Medcenter One, an integrated health system anchored by a 204-bed hospital in Bismarck, N.D., has promoted Chief Operating Officer Craig Lambrecht to the position of president and CEO. He takes over Jan. 1, 2010, succeeding Jim Cooper, who is retiring after working eight years in that role.
Lambrecht promoted to CEO at Medcenter One
Lambrecht, 48, has been an emergency and trauma center staff physician with Medcenter One for 18 years, and was named COO in 2008 after serving five years as corporate medical director. He will be the first physician to lead the Medcenter One system. In addition to earning his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in 1987, Lambrecht has master's degrees in health services administration, public health, and business administration and has served in the North Dakota National Guard for 26 years.
Under Cooper's tenure, Medcenter One renovated its Children's Hospital, and opened two occupational health clinics, a skilled-nursing living center, and the state's first free-standing kidney dialysis center.
