Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth (Kan.) Health System said it has hired Joe Jeans, 49, to be the chief financial officer of two of its hospitals, 257-bed Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., and 43-bed St. John Hospital, Leavenworth. Jeans has 25 years of experience in healthcare finance, compliance and physician recruitment. For the past 12 years, he has worked in a variety of roles for Nashville-based HCA. He is leaving his current position as CFO of HCA's 211-bed Greenview Regional Hospital, Bowling Green, Ky.
St. John Hospital also will have a new chief administrative officer. Daniel Sheehan, 52, will take over the day-to-day operation of the hospital effective Nov. 16. Sheehan has more than 20 years of healthcare-management experience, most recently as CEO of 25-bed Henry County Health Center, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, a critical-access hospital with a 49-bed skilled-nursing unit.
