“I very much looked forward to joining the OHSU team and I admire the work that goes on here,” Revill said in a statement released by the university. “Regrettably, some things in my life changed. The recent death of my stepmother made this an especially challenging time. Upon further reflection, we think the best choice for our family is to return to our longtime home. I regret the inconvenience this has caused OHSU.”
OHSU President Joe Robertson said in a memo to staff and faculty that he wishes Revill and his family the best in this “highly unusual circumstance.”
The university’s executive leadership team will meet soon to decide how to fill the role both temporarily and permanently, Robertson said.
Oregon Health & Science University is the state’s only health and research university, and Oregon’s only academic health center.
