HCA, Nashville, said that CEO Richard Bracken will add the title of chairman on Dec. 15, when former CEO Jack Bovender Jr. is scheduled to step down as chairman. Bracken, 57, replaced Bovender, 64, as CEO on Jan. 1, and also holds the title of president. Bracken joined HCA in 1981 and has been a member of its board of directors since 2002.
The company also said that Milton Johnson, its chief financial officer and executive vice president, has been elected to the board of directors, also effective Dec. 15. Johnson, 52, has worked 27 years for HCA, including the past five as CFO.
