The 54-year-old administrator of Waseca (Minn.) Medical Center has died after being diagnosed with the H1N1 virus, or “swine flu.” However, an official cause of death has not been determined.
H1N1 suspected in death of Minn. hospital administrator
According to a news release, Mike Milbrath died Saturday night at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, Minn. Milbrath joined Waseca, a critical-access hospital, as administrator in December 1995. He helped guide the organization to an affiliation with Immanuel St. Joseph's and the Mayo Health System, Rochester, Minn.
A medical center spokesman had no information on whether Milbrath had any underlying medical conditions.
The Minnesota Health Department says there have been 10 confirmed deaths from complications from the virus, but other fatalities are under investigation.
