Catholic Health Initiatives is moving its national headquarters about 20 miles south, leaving downtown Denver for a business park in the southeastern suburb of Greenwood Village. System officials plan to begin moving into their new building in June 2010.
CHI moves headquarters to Denver suburb
The new headquarters for the 60-hospital Roman Catholic system will occupy 100,000 square feet of office space under an 11-year lease with Lowe Enterprises, Los Angeles, which bought the building in 2006 on behalf of an investment client and continues to manage the property. Lowe also owns the adjacent hotel, conference center and 18-hole golf course.
Herbert Vallier, senior vice president and chief human resource officer for CHI, said in a news release that the 19-year-old building's gold certification last month from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program was a factor in deciding to move to the site, along with easy freeway access.
