Lynn O’Mara was named Nevada’s health information technology project manager and assigned to “coordinate and manage activities to develop a statewide health information exchange,” the state’s Health and Human Services Department announced. According to a news release, those duties will include working with Gov. Jim Gibbons’ Health Information Technology Task Force on a Nevada federal grant application to receive funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to plan the state health information exchange system. In 2008, O’Mara was named to manage the state’s Primary Care Office where she led a re-engineering of the J-1 visa waiver program for foreign-born physicians, according to the news release. She has worked for Nevada’s State Health Division since 2004. Her age was unavailable at deadline.
