UnitedHealthcare has joined the Indiana Health Information Exchange’s Quality Health First program for physicians.
The program uses quality metrics to assess outcomes and provide physicians with information to monitor patients’ chronic illnesses. Data about laboratory tests, medications and treatment histories are collected in a standardized, electronic format and sent to doctors in monthly reports.
More than 900 doctors are participating in the program, the information organization said in a news release. Last year, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield was the first insurer to join the quality program.
