Why would anyone expect government to do better?

While I am no fan of insurance companies, why would we expect the government to create a more competitive platform than we have now?

We already know the government can’t administer anything on a cost-effective basis, so whatever they do will operate at a loss that the taxpayers have to pick up. Their pricing will be whatever they say it is regardless of underlying cost. Public option is a bad idea.
