Regarding the article “Baucus includes pay revamp for docs, hospitals”:
Cutting reimbursement to physicians and hospitals cannot possibly improve healthcare performance in this country. Both groups are hit with rising costs— including malpractice insurance—and provide substantial “community benefit” with little to no recognition.
Meaningful change must include things such as tort reform and end-of-life decisionmaking. Calling insurance reform “healthcare reform” is disingenuous and misleading, and the bill itself is downright unconstitutional.
