Covenant Health System, Lubbock, Texas said Jim Houser will serve as the organization's interim president and CEO, effective immediately. Houser, 58, succeeds CEO Melinda Clark, who left Aug. 5 to pursue other opportunities, according to a spokesman for Covenant Health.
Houser named interim CEO at Covenant Health System
Most recently, Houser led the Nashville and Birmingham markets for St. Louis-based Ascension Health. He also served as interim president and CEO of the Methodist Hospital System. Covenant Health is conducting a national search for a permanent CEO, and Houser will not be considered for the position, the system said in a news release. The system expects to take between six and nine months to complete its search.
“I recognize this is a critical time in the history of Covenant as the organization works to create greater operational efficiencies, and prepares for the future with an exciting vision for the organization, including a new model for the delivery of care,” Houser said in the release.
