A fleet of 19 vehicles belonging to the former head of HealthSouth Corp. will be auctioned this week.
The cars belonged to Richard Scrushy and were seized this month by sheriff's deputies. They're being sold for cash to the highest bidder Thursday to help pay the former CEO's $2.8 billion debt to Birmingham-based HealthSouth.
In June, he was ordered to pay that amount in damages to the company he founded after being found liable in a civil trial for the accounting fraud that almost ran it into the ground.
The lot includes a 1929 Cadillac Phaeton, a 2002 Bentley and a 2000 Rolls Royce Corniche.
