Strong results in the first two months of the third quarter led Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas, to raise its expectations for 2009 operating earnings, the company said. Tenet boosted the bottom end of its expected range for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization by $90 million, to $900 million, and raised the top end of the range by $75 million, to $950 million. This estimate continues to assume that bad-debt expense will continue to worsen through the rest of the year, Tenet said.
