Intermedix Corp., the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., business services firm for emergency providers, has acquired HRA Medical Management, San Diego, which specializes in billing services for emergency physicians and hospitalists. Intermedix President and CEO Doug Shamon said in a news release that HRA’s employees and clients will expand the Florida company’s business model of providing technology-enabled emergency-care billing and documentation services to practice groups in California and the Western U.S. The acquisition also expands Intermedix’s business to services to support care provided by hospitalists. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
