Home health and hospice provider Amedisys said Larry Graham, the company’s president and COO, has resigned, effective immediately. William Borne, the company’s chairman and CEO, will assume Graham’s responsibilities temporarily. Kevin LeBlanc, a spokesman for Baton Rouge, La.-based Amedisys, said Graham, 43, was interested in becoming the company’s CEO “fairly quickly.” With Borne still in place for that position, Graham decided to leave to pursue other opportunities.
Meanwhile, Alice Ann Schwartz, 42, resigned as the company’s chief information officer, also effective immediately. Schwartz had been responsible for IT and clinical operations since 2004. Because Amedisys has grown, LeBlanc said, the company decided to divide that work into two positions. Schwartz was offered the clinical role, which she declined.
Amedisys will soon begin a nationwide search—which will include both internal and external candidates—to fill both positions, LeBlanc said.
