Regarding the article “Group urges Sebelius on database access for all”:
I can see this being helpful for state boards when there are nurses hopping state-to-state after they have been disciplined and are in relapse mode, as long as the boards are required to do so and consistently submit those names. I also see it as a deterrent for certain jobs for those of us whose names are on the list and are active in a recovery program. I have heard a few nurses say that they have applied for federal jobs but would not even be considered when their names came up on the list. And that is discrimination.
