Candace Jennings was named a senior vice president of the 14-hospital Mountain States Health Alliance and CEO of Washington County operations for the not-for-profit hospital system based in Johnson City, Tenn.
Jennings, 56, has been serving as interim CEO since the spring, after John Melton retired due to a diagnosis of brain cancer. As CEO of Washington County operations, she will be at the helm of: 443-bed Johnson City Medical Center, 36-bed Johnson City Specialty Hospital, 54-bed North Side Hospital, 47-bed Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital and 75-bed Woodridge Hospital, all in Johnson City.
Jennings joined Mountain States in 2007 as chief operating officer for Washington County. A registered nurse, she was previously COO for St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
