Meera Kanhouwa has been appointed vice president and medical information officer for MedPlus, the health information technology subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics. Her appointment is effective immediately, according to a news release.
In her new position, Kanhouwa, who has served in a variety of emergency-care posts, will provide insight into delivering critical patient information to point-of-care clinicians.
Kanhouwa, who declined to provide her age, most recently was physician-executive for Microsoft Corp.'s health solutions group. While there, she helped define the division's global strategy and led the global introduction of the company's acquired health intelligence software.
