Michael Barber was named vice president of Healthymagination, General Electric Co.s information technology campaign.
Barber, 48, is chief technology officer for GE Healthcare and has been with the corporation since 1982. As head of the campaign, Barber will be overseeing GEs efforts to build global healthcare partnerships, reduce costs and improve quality and access, the company said in a news release. Barber holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
GEs campaign uses several units within GE, including GE Healthcare, to drive funding for research and development of different IT projects, including electronic health records.
