Ken Paulus year-long stint as CEO-designate at Allina Hospitals & Clinics, Minneapolis, ended June 16 when he was given the position on a permanent basis following the retirement of former CEO Richard Pettingill.
Paulus, 50, becomes president and CEO of Allina following a three-year tenure as chief operating officer at 11-hospital Allina, a role that put him in charge of daily operations for all of the systems hospitals, clinics, specialty operations and several joint ventures. The system has a 22,000-person workforce.
He was appointed president and CEO-designate last year when Pettingill announced his retirement. Paulus formerly held C-suite roles at hospitals in Massachusetts affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
