McKesson Corp. promoted Patrick Blake to executive vice president and group president of McKesson Technology Solutions, filling the position open since Pamela Pure left the company in March.
Blake, 45, had been serving as president of McKesson Specialty Care Solutions, a supplier of specialty pharmaceuticals. He also served as both senior vice president and later president of McKesson Health Systems. Prior to McKesson, Blake worked for Baxter International and American Hospital Supply. He holds an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University and a bachelors degree from Denison University.
The San Francisco-based pharmaceutical supply chain and electronic health-record developer said in a news release that Blakes business leadership makes him ideally suited to expand McKessons health information technology business.
Pures exit last spring surprised the industry and led one analyst to downgrade the companys stock (Print subscription required). McKesson Technology Solutions was trading at $41.99 this morning.
