Peter Schmidt was named chief information officer and director of programs for the National Parkinson Foundation.
Schmidt, 38, will be responsible for developing the foundations health information technology, including a Web-based clinical database and other related Internet resources. Schmidt served previously as director at Cronus Partners, an investment banking firm, and he also was president of Doctor Global, which develops software for chronic-disease management. Schmidt holds a Ph.D. and a masters degree from the Sibley School of Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University and a bachelors degree from Harvard University.
The Miami-based National Parkinson Foundation develops research and education to help improve the quality of care for Parkinsons patients.
