President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak at the American Medical Associations 158th annual meeting in Chicago, June 15, on the need for healthcare reform. Physicians are anticipating that Congress will include measures to fix the problems associated with Medicares physician payment formula.
President Obamas speech to AMA physicians shows that he values the input of those who dedicate their lives to caring for patients. We have a historic opportunity for healthcare reform this year, and the AMA is committed to improving the system so that it works better for patients and physicians, AMA President Nancy Nielsen said in a written statement announcing Obamas speech.
The AMA meeting will be at the Hyatt Regency Chicago June 13-17.
