Sanford Health, Sioux Falls, S.D., announced plans to build a childrens clinic in the Central American country of Belize. The facility will cost $5 million to $8 million and is expected to open in 2011 in Belize City.
Sanford Health to build childrens clinic in Belize
The Sanford Childrens Clinic Belize will be the second such facility established as a part of the Sanford Childrens World Clinics initiative, which was created in 2007 with a $400 million grant from Denny Sanford. The clinic will be developed and operated through a collaboration of the Belize Healthcare Charitable Trust, the Belize Natural Energy Charitable Trust, Belize Healthcare Partners and the government of Belize.
Sanford Health also announced the recent formation of the Sanford Childrens International Board, which will be responsible for developing future Sanford Childrens World Clinics locations.
