Ingenix, a health information technology subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, acquired AIM Healthcare Services, a Franklin, Tenn.-based claims-management company, for an undisclosed sum.
Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Ingenix also acquired AIM affiliates Netwerkes and Ingram & Associates as part of the deal, which has already met necessary regulatory approvals. AIM has about 1,000 payer clients and about 2,000 provider clients, including hospitals, in 50 states. Its services include payment resolution services, data-mining, health information management, contract compliance and medical bill review.
Ingenix said the all-cash acquisition will help the company with its core focus on preventing and detecting errors through the medical claims life cycle, as well as boost coordination of benefits capabilities, especially for government contracts.
