Moses Cone Health System, Greensboro, N.C., said it has filed a request with certificate-of-need regulators to build a $208.5 million, 243,000-square-foot expansion of its flagship Moses Cone Memorial Hospital campus.
The project also would include renovations to 87,000 square feet of the campus. The main part of the project is a bed tower that will make private nearly every room at the main hospital, the system said. The emergency department also will be expanded, and 16 operating rooms will be replaced with larger operating rooms. If the state approves the CON request, construction could begin in 2011, with a goal of completing the project by October 2015.
