Albert Greene, president and CEO of Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Van Nuys, Calif., has died at age 59 from pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed in June 2008, Greene battled the disease while continuing to lead the hospital. He died on April 16. Al was a charismatic leader who made a remarkable and immediate impact at the hospital, said David Fleming, chairman of Valley Presbyterians board of directors, in a written statement. Greene was named to lead the not-for-profit hospital in March 2006. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jo-Linda Greene, son Jeremy Greene, daughter Stacy (Hoby) Pearce and grandson Rory Pearce.
