George Carpenter, president of Costa Mesa, Calif.-based CNS Response, has been named CEO, replacing company founder Len Brandt, who will remain on the board of directors. Daniel Hoffman, M.D., chief medical officer since January 2008, will assume the added duties of president.
The company has developed a computerized analysis system that compares a patient’s brain waves from an EEG against a database to help psychiatrists develop personalized medication regimes for their patients.
Hoffman, 60, is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, and did his residency in psychiatry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center at Denver.
Carpenter, 50, joined the company in October of 2007, serving as president and chief operating officer. Previously he served as CEO of CORE, formerly the Health Data Institute, a third-party disability and employee absence management company working with employers.
