McKesson Corp. announced it is acquiring intellectual property from LMS Medical Systems, Montreal.
The electronic health-record developer said it would integrate LMS Medicals obstetrics surveillance and archival capabilities into McKessons Horizon Clinicals product so that fetal information would be part of a mothers EHR. The function would reduce duplication of medical records, McKesson said in a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
McKesson, which generated buzz after the abrupt departure of Pamela Pure, the head of its technology segment that develops EHRs, said this week that its products are gaining momentum among hospitals implementing its Horizon applications.
