Mark Watson was named executive director of the Radiological Society of North America, effective April 1. Watson, who turns 45 that day, filled the position on an interim basis after his predecessor, Dave Fellers, left in September 2008 and became president of EthnoMetrics, a consulting firm for trade-show exhibitors. Watson has worked for the 42,000-member RSNA for nearly 20 years, since 1994 as assistant executive director of finance and administration. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Austin, Texas, appointed Timothy Knettler as CEO. Knettler will replace former CEO Judith Dempster, who is retiring after 13 years as the top leader but will remain in her role as executive director of the AANP Foundation, a news release said. The change was effective March 20; their ages were unavailable. Knettler arrives at the AANP following eight years with the Federation of State Medical Boards of the U.S. where he most recently was a senior vice president.
