Lester Schindel has been named president of Caritas Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, Mass., a role scheduled to begin May 4, the hospital said in a memo to employees.
Schindel has been a hospital president since 2001, including most recently at New England Sinai Hospital, Stoughton, Mass., according to the memo. In addition to jobs as hospital president and chief executive officer, Schindel spent 17 years in various senior administrative positions with hospitals owned by the Daughters of Charity.
Schindel will replace outgoing Caritas Holy Family president and CEO Tom Sager, who is accepting a newly created position as executive director of the Holy Family Foundation and vice president of Caritas Christi Health Care Development. Caritas Holy Family is one of six hospitals owned by Caritas Christi Health Care, Boston. Schindel's age was not provided.
