The Cleveland Clinic is partnering with MinuteClinic on nine retail clinics inside CVS stores in northeast Ohio, expected to open by the end of the year.
Each clinic will be staffed by one nurse practitioner with clinical consultation from a medical director provider by the Cleveland Clinic Health System, according to a joint news release.
The Cleveland Clinic and MinuteClinic, a Minneapolis-based subsidiary of CVS Caremark, said that they will fully integrate their electronic medical records systems so they can access patient history, medications, treatments and other information from all locations.
MinuteClinics treat common family ailments and offers various health screenings and vaccinations.
Through this agreement, Cleveland Clinics family physicians will serve as a valuable resource to our MinuteClinic nurse practitioners in Northeast Ohio and we look forward to collaborating with Cleveland Clinic on a range of patient education and preventative services, Chip Phillips, MinuteClinic president, said in a written statement.
