Andrew Fishleder has been appointed chief executive officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, according to a new release.
Fishleder, 56, who assumed the newly created post on Jan. 1, will be responsible for the clinics overall operations. The 360-bed multispecialty hospital will open in 2011 and is part of the U.S.-based providers global expansion plan. The hospital, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, will be part of Mubadala Healthcares forthcoming integrated healthcare delivery network.
Fishleder has held various executive positions with Cleveland Clinic, including his most recent post as chairman of the clinics educational institute. He also served as executive dean of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
