How about the chief resident?
I saw your call for nominations for the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in Healthcare and nominated the chief resident. This is a serious nomination that reflects the unique and singular role these physician leaders play in American healthcare. They each have been selected in more than 8,000 residency training programs for their recognized leadership in clinical care and as role models in the formation of young physicians. They wont make the cover of Modern Physician nor will anyone recognize their names, but the effect of their daily work is seen and felt far beyond the 1,700 teaching hospitals they work and lead in. I recognize that this is a strange nomination that might not conform to the nomination format. Still, Id ask that it be considered. I nominate the chief resident as Modern Physicians Most Powerful Physician Executive for 2009.
Editors Note: The final ballot of 100 nominees for the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives for 2009 has been posted on Modern Physician Online at modernphysician.com.
