From the article Obama sees potential for healthcare gains:
Reform advocates have largely fallen in line with Obamas call for a health system overhaul, based on the use of electronic health records, new and expanded government programs and payment reform.
Oh, what insight, what profound thinkingwhy didn't anyone else think of this? Oh, thats right, they did, and long before anyone even knew who this man was. The so-called reform advocates are falling in line all right: like pigs at the trougha $100 billion trough.
We will restore science to its rightful place and wield technologys wonders to raise healthcares quality and lower its costs.
Sorry, wrong againits not more technology we need, but rather more efforts to ruthlessly expunge all the wasteestimates range from 25% to 40%that currently exists in healthcare. The use of EHR, CPOE, P4P, etc., have received very mixed reviews of their effectiveness and cost savings.
And steer the country to a more fiscally sound path?
Howby throwing away $1 trillion to $2 trillion to rescue mismanaged financial companies, banks and others who cheated, lied and stole? Has the over $1 trillion already given awayoh, pardon me: invested and loanedhad any noticeable effect? I keep hearing the old expression, Throwing good money after bad.
